Metalwork

From her backyard tepee, Los Angeles artist blacksmith Heather McLarty of Brainworks, Inc combines modern and age old techniques that date back to the iron age. With her trusty hammer and anvil, Heather loves "smooshing" steel, copper, bronze, and aluminum into whimsical and traditional metalwork that's functional and beautiful. Heather is known for her creative and often nature-inspired gates, hand railings, and intricate sheet work that show her patience and the physical and artistic skills that go into this art form.
