Jessica Hoy is a publicist for the political consulting firm, BGR Group. At 27, she prepares for the most important day of her career, organizing media for the Creative Coalition's Inaugural Ball. The long roster of celebrity supporters, including Anne Hathaway and Susan Sarandon, ensures that Hollywood A-listers will be in attendance as the world's top media outlets cover this highly-anticipated inaugural ball.
Sherell Cannon is a college freshman from Illinois, who sees the new Obama administration as a beacon of hope for herself and her community. Sherell has had a lot to overcome -- she was born with a life-threatening drug-related condition and she is grieving the recent loss of her mother. Now, at 19 she has become a pre-med student and an active youth leader. Invited to participate in the inauguration by the University Presidential Inaugural Conference, Sherell is looking forward to a full calendar of inaugural events, which will culminate in her first Black tie affair.
Ian Harwood is a Ph.D student at the University of California, San Francisco. As president and co-founder of the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony, Ian is involved with several local bands that cater to LGBT musicians. He is selected as one of 180 musicians to play in the Lesbian and Gay Band Association and looks forward to making history as part of the first ever LGBT assembly to march in the Inaugural Parade.
