Holiday Cocktails

The Monkey Gland

Splash of Nouvelle-Orleans Absinthe   
Orange slice (optional)
one and one-half ounces Beefeater Gin
1 ounce fresh-squeezed orange juice
one-fourth ounce grenadine
Orange peel, for garnish
 
Splash the absinthe into a mixing glass.  Add the gin, orange juice, grenadine and ice. Shake. Strain into a small cocktail glass and garnish with the orange peel.

 

The Old Cuban (Holiday Mojito)

1.5 tablespoons fresh lime juice

2 tablespoons simple syrup

1 pinch fresh mint

2 hard dashes of Angostura bitters

3 tablespoons aged rum

 

Add everything to a shaker.. Fill with ice, shake and strain into a large cocktail glass. Top with Champagne.

 

The Coffee Cocktail

1.5 ounce Hine VSOP Cognac
1.5 ounce Dow's Ruby Port
.25 ounce Simple syrup
1 fresh, whole organic egg

 

Add everything to a shaker. Shake hard for 8 seconds to emulsify the egg. Add ice and shake hard for 8 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with ground nutmeg
